VEGAN TEMPEH BURGERS

Ingredients:

8 oz tempeh
2 carrots chopped
1 pepper chopped
2 garlic cloves peeled
1/4 shallot
2 tsp liquid smoke
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp Sriracha sauce
2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
2 tbsp oil any kind

INSTRUCTIONS
You can make these veggie burgers either in the oven or on the stove. If you are baking in the oven, preheat to 400 degree F. Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth. You may have to stop and scrape down the sides. Using your hands, form four equal patties. Brush each one with oil and cook thoroughly. (Bake for 20 minutes, flipping the patty halfway through the cooking process OR sauté for 5–7 minutes on each side in a skillet.) Serve on a bun with your choice of toppings or on a bed of mixed greens.
