Eat Cookie — Lose Weight — The Hollywood Cookie Diet


Can you lose weight by eating cookies? The cookie diet promises nirvana for most of us dieters, allowing us to truly eat what we want. Well to test that out, the Skinny Mom tried the Hollywood Cookie Diet cookies, which come in three flavors – lemon, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. The “diet” part is simple – eat up to four cookies a day as a replacement for breakfast and lunch (and snacks) and have a sensible dinner. At 150 calories each, the Hollywood Cookie Diet plan clocks in at about 600 calories, leaving perhaps 800 calories a day for you to use (if you’re total intake is pegged at 1200-1500 calories). Not bad.

But how do they taste? Well, they’re not quite grandma’s cookies, they are pretty tasty. There is bit of the energy bar taste to them and grab a big cup of water to down with them. Four cookies a day give you 12 grams of fiber, 20 grams of protein and 13 vitamins and minerals, so you’re definitely getting your vitamins and minerals.

I used the cookies for about a week following the plan and was able to lose a few pounds that crept back on – and it was certainly a fairly easy plan to follow. Adding in a piece of fruit between lunch and dinner also helped make it work. I would definitely keep the cookies on hand for great snacks (I had to hide them from the kids though, who thought they were real cookies.
